THE ORIGINAL DARES SOUTHEND BREWERY WAS LOCATED ON BELGRAVE ROAD, BALSALL HEATH BIRMINGHAM, AND DATES BACK TO 1927.
The Dares family were known to be keen fishermen and many of the pubs were located by rivers and lakes. The Southend Brewery was eventually acquired by Davenport's along with the 30 tied pub estate and brands such as "Drum Bitter"in 1961.
